We visited the Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow. We took in the cathedral and the royal tombs. Many of the most historic Polish figures are buried here. Then caught bus to Zakopane. Beautiful trip up the mountains looking at snow capped Carpathian Mountains in the distance. Ben lost Wom on the bus and we had a major crisis in tracking down the bus …

after the castle visit we go for a pizza. There is a huge thunderstorm so the planned short ride to find a local forest steam railway is abandoned. It's so beautiful here we just may be forced into staying another day. It's a hard life, but someone's got to do it!

... we got to the cave. He warned us it would be very difficult and slippery so those who didn't think they could do it should stay back and wait. We all went. In order to get into the cave we had to climb up a ladder. Then there was a chain bolted to the cave walls that we could hold onto and pull ourselves up. ... was steeper and the the rocks were slippery. I was so glad to have my hiking sticks! Finally, after 2 more hours of hiking, we got to the bottom and a nice cold beer & salt replacement!! One thing we were really surprised to see how many nuns were hiking this trail in their habits!
