    ... early and had a small breakfast with the intention of doing most of our three hour walk to Oia (pronounced ear) before the hottest part of the day. It is a fantastically scenic walk along the cliff top of the caldera. We took lots of pictures. The wildflowers were in bloom and the volcanic rocks were a distinctive white, red and black.

    ... hotels have a view). We have a great view from our room / (shared) balcony and the pool. Our room is decorated with "authentic" Greek items which is nice. It is painted all white and a "cave" room which is "carved" (somewhat) into the environment. One advantage helps it regulate temperature, though the weather is great here (70s with a nice breeze). A disadvantage is that the ceilings are irregular and sometimes quite short -- Travis has hit his head pretty hard ...

    Ah Santorini. Santorini is beautiful. It took us 7 hours ferry from Athens to reach here. In one of the high speed ferries that looked more like an airplane. Not the most comfortable trip but hey we got there and they were the only tickets left available to us. Cost us 50 euro. And it was pretty damn hot. Our hotel was called Porto Perissa and was small family owned hotel. It wasn't flash but it was comfortable and the pool and our rooms were always clean. The only annoyance ...
