Today was very exciting, we set off early in the car to travel over the border into the Czech Republic. we collected two friends of Elfi and Gottfried inLinz, and it took about 2 hours to drive. The border was very disappointing! No guards, no passport control!

... stunning view. The castle and the main church in the old town really dominate the scenes across the little town, along with the winding river, making it incredibly picturesque. We even managed to find some quieter little spots away from the hordes of tourists where we could enjoy the river views in some peace, before we found a great little spot right on the river to have a beer and watch the rafters go by! The Vltava River can get busier than Bourke Street (or George Street for ...

... were able to see the chapel, bedrooms a dining room, hallways decorated with all the different coats of arms belonging to different families who lived there, a palace carriage coated in real gold and a masquerade hall. The hall walls were hand painted with pictures of masquerade characters all around it. It was a great room, still used today for concerts. We could have all spent longer in there looking at the paintings as each one was different and was ...
