... through the spectacular Gendarmen square to Checkpoint Charlie, one of the border crossings between East and West Berlin. I didn't realise how recently the Berlin Wall was pulled down, I'm interested to learn more about it. Why this photo? Well the Berlin tram and subway tracks are undergoing major renovations and so they put on replacement vehicles to get you around the road-works. These replacement vehicles are often tiny little buses. But they are so efficient that they've still got ticket machines and even the rolling LCD display showing what the upcoming stop is!
