On Friday marc met up with me again for lunch after a meeting with the director of the school for a tax receipt. ... the historic areas of the city. We visited the tomb of Adolf Hitler that is now buried beneath a parking area with only a sign to mark the place. In a very upscale shopping area, we used the facilities in a department store much like Sax Fifth Avenue and of course visited the fantastic food section - came away with a chocolate crouissant and an apple streudle. ... refreshingly inspiring concert by a most accomplished masterful pianist.  Stepping out onto the street just before 10 am, it was lovely to experience the late dusk just beginning to fall over the city.  Another enjoyable day was brought to a close with drinks and ice-cream back at Christian & Jule's home.  This is to be our last night, before we too make arrangements to leave Berlin tomorrow ...

... of many buildings make for a busy place. Delicious lunch from a hotdog van - and we made our way through the security to see the dome of the Reichstag. A lift whisked us up - and it was a neck craning exercise! All glass and mirrors made a light, bright, huge area. An audio guide and a series of historical photos gave us an insight into the importance of the building throughout Berlin's history. The visit was well worth the early start!
