When I booked my Christmas Eve flight, I patted myself on the back for being "such an adventurer". But then the reality of being away from my family and all of the traditions that seem so integral to Christmas hit me hard. It's really made me focus on the spiritual advent of Christmas versus being occupied by the usual (priceless) simple Christmas traditions. I realized the priceless part this year.

... by 3:30pm, I was a little skeptical of even getting off the ship and exploring. I decided to make my way ashore and just check out the shops on the pier. You can knock pucks out of the way or set up blocks if your in a good position, but if your puck goes off the end of the table or the sides into the gutter it's out.
