... such a long time!
That evening we had a super home cooked roast with Eve and Aoife. Aoife returned from London where she was training as an Opera singer and got into engineering, she is finally settling back in to a new routine, putting down some roots – we are next to do the same … scary stuff!!

Catching up with the ...
Finally off the bus!!
Well after two days of travelling across Canada our final destination was in sight.
Ben and I had been on the Greyhound Bus for 2 nights and we were getting to the point where we just wanted to get off and sleep in a proper bed!!
As usual all day was travelling. We travelled from Winnipeg over night and were due to arrive in Calgary that night around 6pm. We were so looking forward to a shower and a real bed!!

Good Life
... chilly, it grew sunny and warm as the day progressed, making for a great atmosphere in town, as the streets were teeming with people enjoying the two big festivals going on today. It was bit of a whirlwind day, and definitely made the time pass quickly before the late flight back to Calgary. It was a fitting manner to finish the trip, as these past two and a half weeks were a blur.
Calgary to London Gatwick to London Heathrow to Barcelona ...
It's finally official!
... after all. Not to mention a very welcoming and reassuring email from a friend that lives in Melbourne, that they indeed have central heat. Whew! I was worried about dealing with 5C weather in Brisbane with no central heat and barely any insulation. I've been there in winter and know first hand how bloody freezing it can get in the house!

Our Rocky Mountain High

River and on to Golden, the scenery was getting more intense and as we turned eastwards again we entered the narrowest valleys we had flown through - the close peaks even higher at between 8,000 and 10,800+ ft! It is difficult to put into words just how dramatic the views were, and we just hope that some of the pictures convey the atmosphere of this part of our adventure. Lake Louise came up on our right-hand side, the lake still looking frozen and the Chateau standing proudly on ...
