We arrived at M&T's cottage on Seneca Lake Friday evening after a nice dinner with my Dad and Lorraine. Evidently we followed the rain all the way from Cleveland because we had very little rain on our drive and the visitors from the East had rain ...
Penn Yan, New York, United States sgiordano... that for a total ******** charge? . Ok so I am about to make phone calls to try and get a piece of glass to fix my truck. Please hope, pray, send good thoughts or whatever you do that I can do this today cause otherwise I think I am going to loose my mind once and for all. So that is what making a cross country move has been like from my perspective. Since everyone I know is busy the internet gets my vent. And you fortunate souls get to read it. Ok off to make phone calls.
Corning, New York, United States marvs66trip... I am really excited about the trip and finally being with Michelle. I am scared to death about having to have this huge house packed up in two weeks. Especially considering the list of things I still have to do to the truck. For those interested I will be blogging my journey across the country here. http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog/ma rvs66trip/1/tpod.html Please feel free to use the ...

Corning, New York, United States marvs66trip... the seat of our pants. We have a place to meet and sleep in Venice and a flight to get us from Rome to Athens, but Lonely Planet and Rick Steves will have to help us fill in the gaps as we go. This goes very much against my strong organizational tendencies, but I'm going to use it as an exercise in spontaneity and run with it. I depart Tuesday evening around 5pm from Rochester. My cousin Susan is visiting from ...
Andover, New York, United States akb2ic... dinner --for someone else-- chicken Caesar salads and cornbread I had made the previous night. I also served the turtle and fudge brownies. We had a small campfire and went to bed. It was a perfect night for sleeping. I love camping weather that is cold enough that you have to snuggle in the sleeping bag, but not so cold that you get cold during the night.
Bath, New York, United States njbeaglemomAfter our two-and-a-half day party/food marathon it is back on the road for a quick stop in Ithaca NY (possible settling place), home of Cornell U., tree-huggers, and hippies... our kind of town. On to Corning NY for a quick visit with Dad Barrett, the healthiest 77 years old any of us could know. Niagara Falls and starting back westward happens tommorrow.
Corning, New York, United States joshb4... s house, where several of the long distance travelers were meeting to continue the celebration. We just sat in their screened-in porch and talked about just about everything. At some point, Shirley's daughter, who had hosted last night's party, called and when she found out how many of us were there, she packed up a huge bag of leftovers, and so we had a repeat of party food and some more of that great Imagine ...
Naples, New York, United States basykes... of slices of French bread rolled out and brushed with butter and maple syrup, molded into cupcake tins and topped with Canadian bacon. Then she drops in an egg, tops it with New York Cheddar cheese and fresh chives from her garden and then bakes for 20 minutes. It was amazing. The next course was vanilla French toast with banana slices, followed by the final ...
Naples, New York, United States basykes... it may have started out flaky, but after they nuked it in the microwave, it had all the "flake" of a hockey puck and was very disappointing, tho the contents of the pie itself were pretty tasty. We continued on, through rolling green countryside with billboards advertising tractors (you don't see those in Davis!) and quaint barns with attached silos. We finally arrived here ...
