Historical Traveler Reviews Paskins Town House Brighton

Lovely welcome to England

from bonitakale

Tired from the flight, we made our way to Paskins and received a warm welcome. We left our luggage and took a walk while our room was readied, well before the usual check-in time. We only stayed one night, but were very happy with the comfortable (not huge, but comfortable) room and the delicious breakfast the next morning--yummy sausage, especially. Great start for our trip!

This hotel is a hidden gem

We think this was the nicest of all the hotels we experienced when we toured Europe.

Such a friendly welcome, loved David's sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble for all the staff, happy rooms and absolutely the best breakfast we have ever had. They will win awards for their breakfast menu and to cap it all there is Vegemite for the Aussies!!

Definitely worth a return visit

A warm welcome, comfortable room, and a hair drier that worked. Paskins breakfast is brilliant. A good buffet of starters, and a grilled bacon and sausuage spread, in art deco surroundings, with papers to read, and prompt service.

I would certainly return again.

Consistently Excellent.....

We have been going to Brighton to sample its brilliant shopping and nightlife on a regular basis for the last 25 years...During which time we have sampled the good and the bad of Brighton's many hotels and guest houses.

We stumbled across Paskins Town House by accident 4 years ago and received such a welcome and enjoyed our stay so much we have sampled the charming delights of Paskins at least 10 times a year ever since.

In our experience if you stay at Paskins you can be guaranteed a very comfortable room, a uniquely enjoyable breakfast served in art decor splendor.

We have no hesitation in recommending Paskins Town House to all of our friends and relatives..

We have always found staying at Paskins 'consistently excellent'...

Realxed hideaway in Brighton...

We stayed at Paskins with some friends of ours - the staff were friendly and very helpful, the surroundings were very carefully and elegantly decorated -even the resident cat Bubbles - a beautiful Siamese - reflected the ambience -friendly and immaculate! The rooms were very comfortable and spotless and the breakfast - WOW! Huge choice and very good quality. Having stayed at several hotels in Brighton and being a bit pickie about my breakfast -this is a big thumbs up from me. Perfectly placed to be near the centre of everything but providing a quiet haven to relax in we even stayed an extra night. We'll be back

First Class All The Way....

from Travel_Zim

Paskins Town House is outstanding. We stayed there in May of 2003. I always stay in B&Bs whenever traveling in the USA and Europe. Paskins Town House is one of the finest B&Bs in which we have had the pleasure of staying. And we have stayed in outstanding ones. Their hospitality, accomodations and delicious breakfasts are absolutely first class. The owners truly take outstanding care of their guests. We had not originally booked Paskins. Upon our arrival in Brighton we found noone was present at our original B&B which was located several doors from the Paskins Town House. It was raining and the Paskins seeing our plight invited us into their B&B, providing us with hot tea and cookies and attempted to locate the owners of our original B&B. We ended up staying at Paskins Town House and had a fantastic two days and nights there. They were so helpful in recommending things to see and places to eat. We are so delighted for the error made by the original B&B as we would not otherwise have had the pleasure of staying in the Paskins Town house. Thanks so much again!!!

Very organic and no way a hovel!!

Browsing through your site and saw this terrible review of Paskins. My partner and I stayed for the third time last August. Cannot understand the previous two reviews. The breakfast (if they had bothered to partake) is the arguably the best in the south-east and most deffinately organic (We were introduced to their supplier). The room in which we stayed was delightfull. Beautifully decrorated with attractive furnishings - not vast and spacious but it is a regency townhouse and not a purpose built monstrosisty!! Finally and most importantly the owners and staff were very friendly and eager to please - Heaven awaits on the south coast!!!

Give this shabby hovel a miss

from anonymous

Foolishly believing the ad in 'The Vegetarian' which touted Paskins as an high-end establishment, the truth could not have been more different. The rooms we were in were dark and dingy and both rooms put together may not even have made up the single room they were originally. Whilst plugging itself on its alleged "green" credentials, the only colour we noticed was its dark, murky atmosphere. We avoided breakfast after having ascertained from the waiter that it was not organic, as advertised, and speedily checked out.

A tragic, downmarket rabbit warren

from anonymous

Boasting an upmarket, high-end profile with organic breakfast supplied, Paskins Town House turned out to be a revoltingly dingy rabbit warren consisting of tiny, poky rooms (my colleagues' and mine certainly were), amateurishly subdivided and partitioned from larger rooms and furnished in the contemporary Oxfam style. The ambience was shabby and shoddy and the organic breakfast promised notable only by the absence of organic ingredients. I cannot adequately express our disappointment with our stay and advise prospective guests to seek elsewhere.
