Ik eet een lunchke en plan de rest van de dag, eerst ga ik even langs Two Lake Picnic site, om te zien hoe dat er uit ziet om morgenvroeg mijn weg gemakkelijker te vinden, dan even langs Lower Bankhead, een vervallen koolmijn industrie site en daarna naar het stadje Banff zelf. Ik parkeer de RV en ga op zoek naar een Starbucks, daar hebben ze wifi en kan ik de verhalen van de voorbij dagen uploaden, het alternatief is McDonalds... Nog ...
Into the Wild
... there's plenty of horse-traffic on this route. 2. Too much weight. We have too much clothes as they are not only meant for this hike and have nowhere else to store them. We have also packed way too much food. How much too much we don't know yet, but at least that weight gets lighter by the day. 3. Mosquitoes. I'd forgotten how exhausting they were! I think we're getting used to the bites as they don't swell up anymore, but it's still incredibly irritating and frustrating ...
Takakkaw!!
... so while he is in work all day, Stephanie and my mom and I get to go out and spend time in the beautiful national parks! And then in the evening, we can all do something together, and then we get to come back to a really awesome hotel! The hotel looks like a castle, and it is nestled right in the mountains. It's great to be able to stay here! We are already enjoying this hotel, and we are looking forward to exploring the Banff area all this week!

Ice Fields...aka...Ice Parking Lot!!!
... a little ways, and CO cried out, "I just saw two bear cubs!" Slamming on the brakes (looked in the rearview mirror first) we began backing up. After we'd back up a ways, CO said, "Oh, I guess it was just a log...but a really cute log!" At that point we decided to focus on our destination, and not worry about wildlife.

... to describe what's on offer. From majestic mountains to incredibly turquoise glacially fed lakes like Lake Louise and Peyto Lake, deep canyons funneling torrents of melt water and the many glaciers such as the Athabasca and Saskatchewan Glaciers which form part of the massive Columbia Ice fields.
A real highlight was our day driving from Banff to Jasper, where we drove past the Athabasca Glacier. You can hike almost ...
