    ... suggested we catch a bus to Ala Moana Shopping Complex back towards the airport. So that's what we did. On the bus an old guy said " bet you two ladies are Australians". I didn't think we had stickers on. Anyway turned out he left Ballarat when he was 18 and has only been back once since. When we got there we entered through the Food Court so decided to have lunch. The day is capped with a luau (including the pig wrapped in banana leaves and buried to cook all day in a natural smoker and a play production laden with spiritual metaphors. Brigham Young U is next door, providing a willing workforce. Some theology eked into the programming, if my spidey senses were on point.

    Being airborne on my flight with Alaska (!!) Airlines I was already chatting with the person next to me. Kathy from Nevada (but living in Idaho) travels with her best friend and the parents of her friend for one week to O'ahu for vacation.     ... go back an have pizza again because it was so good, and then we took a walk around the outskirts of Waikiki in search of bike shops and also the Ala Mona shopping centre. While out walking you could clearly see who competed in the Marathon the day previous as they were all hobbling like they were in extreme pain - we knew they didn't do enough training.

    Any-hoo that is about it for Hawaii - we are off to Las Vegas in the morning! Woot Woot!

    ... when they passed of course! It was very sombre and hard to imagine how it must have been back then. We had a look round the other free museumy bits and shared a hot dog. We then caught a bus back to waikiki. The taxi driver earlier told us they're building a tram system - we found out why!!!
