As I negotiate the twists and turns up this pass its getting colder every mile. Soon a few drops of rain fell and then it turned to light snow and hail. A terrible freezing wind was blowing and looking at the road surface one could see the hailstones being blown across the surface making it rather slippery.

Day 5 Today was a much easier day, walking along the contour of the mountain for most of the day thru wooded paths and fields. There were beautiful wild flowers all along the way, some waist high. The path was shady, as it was very hot again, and fairly flat so we were able to stretch our legs.
