A hard day due to heat and lightening storms.

Saturday was both a relaxing and a stressful day. Lynne's bike would not start Friday night and a lady passing by said that her cousin owned a repair shop and might be able to help. Her cousin Chris drove to Beaumont, TX to pick up a part to repair her bike and get her back on the road. The bike was repaired and delivered by about 3 pm and by 4 pm, we were driving around Lakeshore Blvd admiring all their extensive ...

**It is worth noting here, that people in Louisiana are really friendly. We have heard "Have a good day" everywhere we have travelled in America. Although only a subtle change to "Y'all have a good day" in Louisiana the real difference is you can really tell they mean it. **

Can only hope that by the time the plane lands in Honolulu, I will be able to relax, leave all my worries behind and enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer.

... three hour drive into New Orleans so we should be there by noon. Our campsite is very nice. Has water and electrical outlets right next to the picnic table and even has a shower in the bathroom. I'm a little confused about how Louisiana handles the finances of their parks because we had to drive on a dirt road to get to the park but when we got here the bathrooms were air conditioned. I'm not complaining though because with the humidity I will take any air conditioning I can ...

Day 2 - Woodworth, LA

A travel blog entry by the3chickateers on Jun 07, 2013

After a light shower overnight (we stayed dry), today was absolutely perfect. We relaxed all day, doing our own little things. Sherry read her book on a float in the water, Debby laid on her lawn chair in the sun, and I went for a long walk exploring the campground. We had grilled pork chops (not squirrel) for dinner, with wild rice, and French cut green beans with sautéed onions and mushrooms. The bathhouse showers are nasty here (thank God for shower shoes) and tonight was ...
