The decision of when to turn around is made for me when we arrive at a dirt covered snow avalanche from the previous winter(s). ... a speedy route. How this was ever considered faster than the road around the end of the mountain and along the valley I'll never know. Having said that, the route through and down the mountain pass was an experience.

Checked out the trailhead for future reference, and as the rain had only abated slightly, aborted the walk. Decided to drive back through the valley of prosecco vineyards, a very picturesque route to Feltre. My choice.
