... 3. When we returned Suzi and Eva went in the garden to plant basil, Eva insisted I come too. Eva then drew a lovely picture of me and her in the nest at the beach. We had crab cakes for supper, with basil aioli, salad and pesto spaghetti. I then had more cherry pie. All very delicious. A quiet evening of chat followed. ... Dunes are ranked in the top 10 public courses in the USA. Pacific Dunes was stunning! The morning was cool, cloudy and very windy which made for a very tough challenge. A few showers blew in for our final 4 holes which gave us the full links golf experience. ... overlooks numerous sand dunes. While we were there, the area was gearing up for a DuneFest, with an excess of dune buggy and ATV's everywhere. The standout of this lighthouse was a beautiful red-and-white illumination from an original Fresnel lens. Tours were also offered for this one, including an opportunity to climb up partially into the spinning lens. The vertigo was worth it!

What a wonderful week in Bandon, Oregon. The drive there was spectacular. Beautiful views of the Pacific and the beaches. Bullards State Park, just north of Bandon, was beautiful. The main industry is tourism and they made the town very tourist friendly. Oregon is also very dog friendly. You can take your pets almost anywhere and everyone does. ... something to do with the use of low security prisoners in the country areas as I have noticed them twice now and they are easy to spot. There uniform is a bright orange and has the word name of the facility they are from and the word prisoner on it. I also saw a could of guards and a Correctional Truck and there seemed about twenty of them. I was just thinking that the orange uniform reminded me of my old Surfside Shuttle uniform but then remembered it was only ...
