Happy Birthday Mum! Left our soggy campsite and went to Durango. It's a small city surrounded by big cliffs and mountains. Has a historic town with a nice vibe: small stores, café's, restaurants, boutiques, yoga stores, Chinese medicine, used-book stores, outdoor shops (see pics), antiques shops, art, crafts and alternate clothes stores :-). ... We've ridden the 20 miles into Durango a few times--a couple on the motorcycle. We've paddled around on the lake in the kayaks a couple of times. No one turned over! Last Tuesday, we drove 2 hours to Dove Creek (almost to Utah!) to buy 70 pounds of dried Anasazi beans--not all mine! 3rd- 4th August Yesterday morning we left monument valley and continued driving across Arizona, we stopped a couple of times doe photos, and then drove to 4 states, which is where four states- New Mexico, Arizona , Utah and Colorado meet at right angles to each other. Meaning you can stand in four states at one point. I also boughten a sand painting from a Navajo lady ho was demonstrating it, which was really interesting. We then drove to Mesa Verde for lunch ...
