... Central and South American peoples consider the areas only one continent, America. The night of the Costa Rica vs Mexico game, Nuria made a gigantic pot of hearty soup and there were 10 or more visitors: family and friends. Costa Rica won and there was much celebration both within the home and outside on the street. Fireworks went off for several hours after the end of the game.
... of like sweet and sour sauce and contained what looked like sliced plaintains but tasted like undercooked potatoes.
Afterwards, I got a granizado, a common Costa Rican dessert that I hadn't tried yet (sweet cherry syrup over ice cream/shaved ice). Let me just say, it won't be missed.
It was overall a nice, relaxing way to spend our last day. We had plenty of time to nap and head to the airport... for Atlanta!
... rio (more like a creek). We got to an open area with the river tumbling down the hill and large trees and rocks dotted farmland. Although there is a prohibition to future development this area is still being farmed. At several point we had to get down on our hands and knees to crawl under the barbed wire.

... better, the bad news we still looked like fools because we were the only ones in face paint! Lesson was learned, no day of the dead celebration! The night was still fun but felt a little out of place all night but oh well!
In other news, Kev and I have been working ******* getting our trip planned for his visit! We have our general plan made and hotels booked! We are 39 days away from his arrival! I am hoping this last bit of time just flys by! We are ...
... was scheduled for 9:15. The earthquake happened at 8:45! I guess Earth had her own plans for practicing evacuating!
There was some damage throughout Costa Rica from the earthquake but overall we were very lucky to sustain very little damage throughout the country. And for those that may have been worried about a tsunami, Escazu is surrounded by mountains so I should never have to worry about any tsunamis. ...
