... windy, but not wet. We popped into the Beaufort Grocery Co. Restaurant (mentioned in the Coolest Small Towns article) for a mid-afternoon snack. After looking at the menu, we ended up ordering a cup of gumbo (thick, chunky, and delicious), and a chicken salad gougère (which is a Parmesan choux pastry used as bread for a sandwich at this restaurant; also very tasty), which also came with a fresh fruit salad.
