We visited the war museum, the movie in the theatre of footage from WW2 Darwin bombings on the 19 February 1942 brought tears to my eyes, it was just so fierce, 251 people died that day from the 2 attacks, I thought, my dad was there and imagined how frightened it would have been, and has the world learnt anything, no, so sad. And we are up and walking again at sunrise. This time thru the botanical gardens. There was rainforest areas, hot house with beautiful orchids amongst the other bromeliads and other exotic plants, the tropical savannah plants, the Australian bush section and lots of amazing plants from South America and Mexico. George Brown was the founder of the gardens who arrived in Darwin for a short holiday in the 1980,s and decided to stay. He wanted to "green" Darwin ...

We are country showed out but have to say they are heaps more fun than the city shows. We have learnt lots about working dogs, camp drafting and rodeo's and met some amazing people, even a few mad quilters and knitters. Have even been invited to a camp draft at the end of August on a station just out from Katherine, not sure if we will be back from Gove in time.

Slow start in Darwin this morning and gee extremely hard to cope walking out the back of the house to have breakfast viewing the marina - certainly is the lifestyle you could cope with on a daily basis.

Headed off into town to have a quick look around and for Craig to try and do the Crocosaurus - in the glass with the croc - unable to as have to pre-book, so he will be able to do on Monday.

... checked us in and we climbed on board and found our cabins. Mum's seat is facing forward and we are looking at where we've been. We stowed our gear away and it was lucky that we'd checked one suitcase into the luggage van as it would have been a bit squashy with two.
