... the centre of the CBD (weird!) is Crocosaurus Cove. Look, quite frankly, I wouldn't go there again. I would prefer to see the crocs in their lovely muddy water or sunning on a river bank and seeing them in crystal clear swimming pools was a little unsatisfactory. On our journey to Darwin, we stopped off to go on an hour cruise along the Adelaide River to see the 'jumping crocodiles'. Even though this is a fresh water river, it has approx. 7000 seawater crocodiles in it.

It was an informative, enlightening and sobering to see just how many of these beasts there are swimming these waterways, and in particular how agile they are ...

Its a strange thing the simularites and the differences between Victoria and the Northern Territory, especially when it comes to safety. Day 121: Darwin, Into Australia

... outside of Darwin. There is a dearth of accommodation under 100 in Darwin so our options were extremely limited. That being said we were given an extremely warm Irish welcome and we settled in straight away to a takeaways Domino's Pizza so I'm in quite good spirits! Our room is cosy but fairly recently refurbished and clean (check out the photo). We're both excited to finally be in Australia and we're very keen to get out and about exploring in the morning. ...
