Continued up the Miss this morning with a sunrise start, the river had droped about 6 inches overnight, which made getting going a bit of fun.... But after a coffee on the sandbar, we waddled our way out of there and on our way. 'Twas the beach on the tip of the island upon which we did rest.

... of shrimp and clams. Unfortunately, on the way back to the RV we hit a deer and it did some damage to the front of my car. We can still drive the car. It will have to wait to get fixed until we get home in November. The deer it did not fare so well.

... hopefully for the last time until we hit Dad's place in about four days), then headed home for the evening.  Both coming and going, we got caught by the drawbridge in Charlevoix.  The bridge goes up and down on the half hour to allow boats too big to pass under it access to and from Lake Michigan. After dinner, Mike lit a Swedish log candle that Chris had brought with him from Watkin's Glen.  This ingenious little device consisted of about an 18 inch section of hardwood ...
