Big Sur was a very expensive place, the petrol was $4:75 per gallon, whereas everywhere else was about $2:80/ gallon. Continued along the beautiful highway 1 drive. Stopped at Carmel on the Sea for breakfast. This was a gorgeous little town, quite old fashioned. We then drove onto Pacific Grove and went to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. It was very interesting and nice to see the big clusters ...

No wind (well not quite), cloudless skies and a course in very good knick all made for a very enjoyable outing. Despite the infrequent Spaulding Smails-like outbursts my playing parters welcomed me back to pay their beloved Adobe Creek; an offer I will be sure to accept. ...

... the city, but before crossing the bridge we got off on Alexander avenue to climb the hills for famous views of the bridge and the city. It was a clear sunny day for us. The road upward was equal parts cars and fit cyclists. Every once in a while the traffic would stop while someone maneuvered in or out of a scenic lookout. High up in the hills you look down on the bridge and the city. If the ...
