Despite a sunny start the fog came down again because of the nearness to the river. It is quite a wetland area. We left hwy 101 and took the 255 to Eureka via the bridges over the Humbolt River connecting Woodley Island. The fog disappeared so we had a walk round Eureka's Historic Old Town. Pity the shops were not open! We had a little more fog leaving Eureka. It it did not last long. Again we ...

The first challenge was finding where our seats were located; Sod's law prevailing we docked in the area ...

... turns and beautiful views were the order of the day. The turns, however, were usually bending around sheer dark rock that prevented you from seeing the other side until you were there. Up, up we climbed. Not has high as Pikes Peak or Switzerland, where we've driven before, but tighter and greener.

Suddenly we were on our way down again. "Did we miss it?", I asked. Because Mt. Tamalpais park was defined as everything we were driving through, we didn't really ...

... health and safety measures were tightened..... 3 men died during the construction of the bridge, a testament to the improvements.

After we'd crossed the bridge we descended to Sausalito where we had the option of catching the ferry back to SF or continuing, we opted to continue and said goodbye to our fellow riders.

We carried on the cycle path to Old Mill Park where beautiful houses nestled ...
