... scare one away you dont throw food at it! Its more likely to become your best friend. Anyway we left the racoon still in the middle of the road and made our way to Port Dover. Not much there though so we carried on to Welland. This is almost back to Niagara Falls but not quite, there are a number of wineries around this area so we are going to visit some tomorrow before we make our way to Whitby. No moose here ...
Heavy rain all night, so I wonder how the water will be for racing? We meet a lovely local staying at the hostel who just happens to be a race official....she's very official, but extremely kind hearted, and she offers to drive us to the course. This will save us a 15min bus ride and then a 1.5km walk, however, both have been pleasant.

... Liz Thompson, very kindly drive us and we spend a lovely evening walking along the main road to view the falls. Niagara is a curious mix of Nth American tack and majestic wonder. It is such a shame to see the ugly side of tourism....Queenstown NZ, has a lot going for it with a more sensitive approach.
