Historical Traveler Reviews Olivia by Duval Key West

      Incredible place

      from

we stayed here for 7 days last october for fantasy fest ,. This was our 10th Fantasy fest and have stayed in 10 different places ... but no longer... this will be our permanent Fantasy fest home,.,, we loved it ,, everthing was perfect .... The location is great ,, accomodations perfect, the pool/deck area is great for daytime lounging,,, can't say enough about Olivia by duvall...

if you haven't been there... your missing out ....

      See ya in October !!

      Nice Place

      from

My boyfriend and I stayed at Olivia by Duval from March 10-12, 2005. Olivia's location is fantastic. Just a block off of Duval Street. The whole place is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. The pool is nice, but somewhat small, and by the time the afternoon comes around is pretty much in the shade. My boyfriend and I stayed in the smallest room that they had, but it was definitely big enough for our needs. All the rooms have their own private bathroom. For the price that they charge for their rooms, this place is a steal! Go check it out. You won't be disappointed.

      Best kept secret

We loved it! where can you go for a great price and quite atmosphire.!!\

I can not say enough good things about it. centrally located, walking diatance from everything, good water pressure, the best beds to sleep in.. comfortable and cozy. Bring a book for the Am because its so nice in the morning for coffee and a porch sit. I liked being able to come home late and every one was considerate, and waking up eary and everyone was considerate... get it... nice people too!!!! quite!! beautiful pool !!!! Cynthia Hwd, Fl

      Great Condo

      from

We spent a week in Key West at the Olivia By Duval. This was a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. It was located centrally near Duval street where all the action takes place. It was within walking distance of any sites we wanted to see. The personnel were great. I found them to be extremely accomodating and personable.

Kay's Cottage - Great place to stay in Key West!

      from

Kay's Cottage is a great facility in a great location on the island. It is just one block off Duval Street, yet towards the quieter south end away from the hustle and bustle of the north side. Everyone we spoke with who manages the facility was very friendly and helpful. Recommended by a friend, we were looking for an above average place to stay for a reasonable price and found it at Kay's Cottage. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Key West.

      Our favorite place

      from

We go to Key West two to three times per year. Recently, we have begun staying at Olivia by Duval. What a gem!!! The staff is great, the location is great, the price is reasonable, and the rooms have the "keysy" feel. Although it is near Duval St., you hear little of the noise and it is very relaxed. We love it.

      Great deal for a budget

      from

I have stayed here in many of the rooms. In my opinion for the price you can't find any place else with a pool this inexpensive. The staff is very freindly and the rooms are always cleaned. MB ,WV

If you want a safe, clean resonable stop here!!

      from

My new husband and I wanted to get married in Key West. We stayed in the "Captan Quarters Back" and the room was perfect for honeymooners. The staff was great and the room was always spotless. It was the best time we ever had on a Trip and I can not wait to go back. The room had a full kitchen and a murphy bed. It was totally cool. The dates we stayed were 08/24/04-09/01/04.

Olivia by Duval Do NOt Go!

      from

We stayed May 26th and 27th of 2004 in THE CONCH ROOM. I have been to Key West several times, but my boyfriend had not. When we were showed our room he almost REFUSED to stay in it. It was quite dumpy looking considering the $89 a night that we payed. OUCH! (Holes in walls, dirty looking even though it may have been clean.) The worst part was that we had to make a non-refundable deposit so we were stuck staying there. It was not a great step up from the Santa Maria Hotel. I didn't think it was terrible, just a bit of a rip-off. The room, sheets, and towels were clean. It had a bachelor style kitchen, nice ceiling fan and decent air conditioning. I think we would have both been happier at the Wyndham or a nicer guest house. I would have been happier with it if the rates were more around $65. Never again!

      A week in Paradise

      from

My wife and I recently spent a week (7 Nights) in Key West at the Olivia By Duval properties. Our stay was wonderful and we hope to repeat in the future. The management of the properties were very friendly, most accomodating and a joy to be associated with. Our room was very clean and very nicely decorated and led to an atmosphere of complete relaxation. While we were very close to the action on Duval St. we enjoyed quiet relaxing moments at our room. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to spend a wonderful and affordable vacation in Key West.

When a shipwreck happened, the men would go out to sea to try and salvage as much as they could and the women would walk and watch anxiously awaiting the return of their husbands. Most often, they never came back and if they did, they usually brought fine furniture ...

... When we were asked to don aviators caps and goggles, I'm sure she thought we were going to have to fly this slightly aged plane but, in fact, there was a pilot stuck in the opening behind us. In this Red Baron-type contraption we had a great view of the Keys and the surrounding coral reefs.

We also saw some jet ski's that looked to be taking the long way around Key West, racing from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico and back to the ...

... From the old bridge there was excellent panoramic views of the island and surrounding area. We walked along the nature trail, saw many different kinds of trees, coming out at another beautiful beach, these were the nicest beaches along the many keys that make up the chain of islands. Back to our hotel for lunch and a shower. Later we walked ( yes ... 5 km) into town for dinner, and back again. Managed to miss the rain showers on the way back to the ...

... for drink orders. We navigated around the table - when he got to Dart, she asked whether they had a "sweet martini" - Snarly grimaced and said, "You want me to make you a Cosmo?" with a "you idiot" added by facial expressions and tonality. I asked for a mojito - "I don't think we can do that, what else would you like?" I responded more to his attitude than the question and said "nothing then" - he sighed and said he'd do what he could.
Well, it took about ten minutes or ...
