if you haven't been there... your missing out ....
See ya in October !!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Olivia by Duval from March 10-12, 2005. Olivia's location is fantastic. Just a block off of Duval Street. The whole place is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. The pool is nice, but somewhat small, and by the time the afternoon comes around is pretty much in the shade. My boyfriend and I stayed in the smallest room that they had, but it was definitely big enough for our needs. All the rooms have their own private bathroom. For the price that they charge for their rooms, this place is a steal! Go check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Best kept secret
We loved it! where can you go for a great price and quite atmosphire.!!\
I can not say enough good things about it. centrally located, walking diatance from everything, good water pressure, the best beds to sleep in.. comfortable and cozy. Bring a book for the Am because its so nice in the morning for coffee and a porch sit. I liked being able to come home late and every one was considerate, and waking up eary and everyone was considerate... get it... nice people too!!!! quite!! beautiful pool !!!! Cynthia Hwd, Fl
We spent a week in Key West at the Olivia By Duval. This was a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. It was located centrally near Duval street where all the action takes place. It was within walking distance of any sites we wanted to see. The personnel were great. I found them to be extremely accomodating and personable.
Kay's Cottage - Great place to stay in Key West!
Kay's Cottage is a great facility in a great location on the island. It is just one block off Duval Street, yet towards the quieter south end away from the hustle and bustle of the north side. Everyone we spoke with who manages the facility was very friendly and helpful. Recommended by a friend, we were looking for an above average place to stay for a reasonable price and found it at Kay's Cottage. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Key West.
Our favorite place
We go to Key West two to three times per year. Recently, we have begun staying at Olivia by Duval. What a gem!!! The staff is great, the location is great, the price is reasonable, and the rooms have the "keysy" feel. Although it is near Duval St., you hear little of the noise and it is very relaxed. We love it.
Great deal for a budget
I have stayed here in many of the rooms. In my opinion for the price you can't find any place else with a pool this inexpensive. The staff is very freindly and the rooms are always cleaned. MB ,WV
If you want a safe, clean resonable stop here!!
My new husband and I wanted to get married in Key West. We stayed in the "Captan Quarters Back" and the room was perfect for honeymooners. The staff was great and the room was always spotless. It was the best time we ever had on a Trip and I can not wait to go back. The room had a full kitchen and a murphy bed. It was totally cool. The dates we stayed were 08/24/04-09/01/04.
Olivia by Duval Do NOt Go!
We stayed May 26th and 27th of 2004 in THE CONCH ROOM. I have been to Key West several times, but my boyfriend had not. When we were showed our room he almost REFUSED to stay in it. It was quite dumpy looking considering the $89 a night that we payed. OUCH! (Holes in walls, dirty looking even though it may have been clean.) The worst part was that we had to make a non-refundable deposit so we were stuck staying there. It was not a great step up from the Santa Maria Hotel. I didn't think it was terrible, just a bit of a rip-off. The room, sheets, and towels were clean. It had a bachelor style kitchen, nice ceiling fan and decent air conditioning. I think we would have both been happier at the Wyndham or a nicer guest house. I would have been happier with it if the rates were more around $65. Never again!
A week in Paradise
My wife and I recently spent a week (7 Nights) in Key West at the Olivia By Duval properties. Our stay was wonderful and we hope to repeat in the future. The management of the properties were very friendly, most accomodating and a joy to be associated with. Our room was very clean and very nicely decorated and led to an atmosphere of complete relaxation. While we were very close to the action on Duval St. we enjoyed quiet relaxing moments at our room. I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to spend a wonderful and affordable vacation in Key West.

... watching is second to none. The music down here is awesome. Every night of the week you have dozens of bars with live bands to choose from. It is upbeat and beautiful and you can't help but be happy. I check the weather around the US often and no weather in the United States beats Key West weather through the winter except Hawaii. Although I did have to turn my heat on at least four times. Myth about Key West beaches: Many have heard there are no good beaches in Key ...
... was too much of it. We all left about half of what was served. Nita had a whole fish and grossed us all out!
Nita had bought some lights strings with batteries for my chair. They all worked together to get the batteries loaded and my chair decorated. No way anyone would not see me in the dark! I was hooted and hollered at al the way back to Hauley. Nice way to end a fun day! ...
... the Maritimes Caravan recommended that we try it. Glad we did. We both had their fish and chips baskets finished off with their individual key lime pie - a layered desert rather than a slice of pie. Good food at a good price. Only problem was that with the windy conditions, it was a bit difficult holding on to your drink and your plate at the same time. Wish they had some wind screens to block the winds coming off the Gulf. Great place to watch the sun ...
... 6 minute bike ride and a very leisurely pace and was not much traffic today. Soon after breakfast we hit the Hemingway house for a tour. The Hemingway house was unbelievable and had so much unique history to it. The most amazing part was the six toed cats that roam the grounds were very friendly and peaceful and just lounging around all day and each one had complete character within each one of them. Soon after we decided to hit world of beer which ...
... so warm! See attached pics.
Then it was time to drive back to Miami. We didn't stop all the way back so made good time but it was still 9.30pm when we got back. Took some photos out the car windows on the way back - see attached.
We were going to go for a walk to get some (late) dinner but some storms came in and it started to rain heavily so we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant. The food was once again, sensational. Time for bed after our big ...
