Beautiful sunset ad we left and the sea was smooth - lovely looking at the northern stars again. Rob will have then worked out before we leave Alaska.

The highlight of our first night was seeing the Northern Lights - wow

Great weather, cool but dry and flat seas.

That evening, however, there was a lovely Scottish lass singing and playing various musical instruments in the ship's theatre and those of us who ...

... seems like a nice enough city but to be honest I am not sure why everyone goes on about how wonderful it is. It has a couple of draw cards like the gardens, and the two main buildings of The Empress and the Legislative buildings but other than that I didn't really see anything that made it stand out against other cities I have visited.

Maybe I am cynical or looking in the wrong places but it was a nice city but that's all ...
