... down at the water from a bridge and the river appeared to look as though it was showing us a view of North and South America from outer space - of course water levels dictate these types of things. You could do this nice little hike in an hour, but slow down and take two hours. You'll thank yourself when you've finished. Take bug spray.

From Duluth we continued north to Gooseberry Falls State Park. The falls are very easy to get to and you can climb all over them. Bring your suit if you want to get wet. From Gooseberry Falls we went to Split Rock Lighthouse. It is one of the more picturesque lighthouses you'll ever see. Too bad it was a bit overcast by then. The hike to the shoreline ...
