Today we had a trip across the border into Cook County, Minneapolis and visited the pretty Lake side resort of Grand Marais. It's about 80 miles south along route 61 and took us about an hour and a half. I had to buy a 30 day visa at the border which cost $6.

Once the kids had been bathed and unwound they were put to bed.
The rest of us had a beautiful chicken dinner with lots of fixings. It was a rare treat to have meals cooked for me so i relished it. The fire was lit in the open fire in the lounge which added to the atmosphere. Before long it was past bedtime for all, all in all a very special day with close family and my sisters new one.
