We decided to take SR 16 to SR 14 from Gillette to Sheridan rather than stick with the Interstate because we felt it would be a more enjoyable, less congested ride. For the night, we stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites.

We had dinner at Wyoming's Rib & Chop house. It was some of the tastiest food we had had so far and the price was comparable to the prices we paid ...

Beartooth Highway

... beginning to bemoan our decision to make this unnecessary diversion when we were all of a sudden very clearly on one of or the most scenic journeys in America. Our 1st gas stop was a treat. We met a couple from Dubois, PA. Today is their 50th wedding anniversary and they were on their way home (they left to tour on their bike on 7/6). I thought 18 days was ...

The people in Sheridan were among the friendliest we have met on our travels so far. They say hello on the street downtown, smile when passing and will stop to chat if you ask for directions. It's a "real" small town feel.

Next stop .... Cheyenne, WY

... of riding. The "Chuck Wagons" stopped off at a place (The Purple Pie Place) for lunch. The food was very good and the rhubarb pie was GREAT! Bill and Greg reported the "Bumbleberry" and blackberry were excellent also. We then droned on over to the Sheridan KOA where we are settled in for the evening, although we are going to dinner at a steak and chop place that Tom picked out and I am sure will be ...
