9/27- 9/28 Peter D's Campground, Sheridan, Wy, 1 night, full hookup

We left Spearfish in the rain that turned to snow as we headed up to Devils Tower, heavier and heavier – we turned around. Too risky as the roads were snow covered and icy. We drove through a mix of rain and snow heavy in some areas lighter in others. We were glad to get off the road late afternoon.

... West Yellowstone to Bozeman. At 1030 in the morning! So we arrived at the Little Bighorn battlefield later than we planned and not enough time really to see everything in detail and fully absorb the events that took place. But it was very moving. The people in Sheridan were among the friendliest we have met on our travels so far. They say hello on the street downtown, smile when passing and will stop to chat if you ask for directions. It's a "real" small town feel.

The military had guns and all the Indians had were bows and arrows.We also did some shopping in Story, WY and had lunch at the Busy Bee in Buffalo, WY which was part of the Occidental Hotel. What is a funny story now but wasn't at the time is Susan ordered a salad that was supposed to have broccoli, cauliflower and carrots on it. ... are exhausted. My dad is already sleeping, gently snoring. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow, with a goal of pushing deep into Montana. We won't be able to "do" Glacier this time, but we plan to see as much as time will allow us. Dad doesn't have to be to the Spokane airport until late Friday morning... and we intend to use every minute of our time together!
