... the next segment with interviews, I left it recording while beginning to pull out to the lot and the tracking was going crazy so i asked Sraddha to pull the plug on the power to shut it all down.

Haven't finished viewing it yet and will finish next time we have shore power along with satellite reception. Probably the weekend when we get out of the Black Hills and Badlands into midwest.

So we are off to Mt. Rushmore and have left Yellowstone, though I am sure we will be returning. We stopped in Cody Wy and toured a small museum there called Old Town Trail which was a sort of replica old town circa late 1800s.
Along the way we saw some minor stops and did a few of them till we came to Devils Kitchen. I can't find it anywhere on a map or Google and it was way down some dirt ...

... wheel drive trail. It is between Sheridan and cody. We tried to get to the other side of the mountain but ran into too much snow at around 8500 feet. We had to turn around and come back the same way. The good news is that we saw two Moose on the way back down. We ended up back in town for a late lunch. We leave tomorrow for Yellowstone National Park

... hills, and a disease that was affecting many of the pines out there: obviously killing them, all needles completely brown. We speculated on the whole thing, but came to no conclusions. (UPDATE: Dad found an explanation online, the Mountain Pine Beetle.)

We descended out of the Black Hills and back into more of a prairie landscape, but the hills still rolled more so than in the more eastern parts of the state. It was dry; everything ...
