Well, here we are in Banff- smack dabin the middle of two national holidays, Canada Day and the U.S.'s Independence Day. We expected a lot of folks in Banff and the entire area but holy cow! Our travel companions and ourselves decide to mosey into downtown fairly early this morning. Hmmmm, not too bad so far. We found a place to park, and we could walk down the sidewalk without bumping into anyone. ...

... the dining cart. And yes @AuntyGail the food is scrumptious but it is the random lucky dip of the people you meet that adds the extra satisfaction to the delights served up by the chefs. ... of awesomeness and serenity
To top it off we had a room with a view over this stunning lake and snow covered mountain.
We were really sorry we didn't have more time in this most incredible awesome place. We fitted in a long walk and climbed up behind the lake., during which we witnessed a lot of rock climbers abseiling the massive cliff faces along this path.
    My only disappointment ...

... what we were going to do tomorrow. We have had a couple of crazy days so opted to a more relaxed day.

In the morning we started the day (at 11am) by walking around the beautiful little town of Banff. This was a nicer town than Jasper and on par with Canmore. It had that typical mountain town look and feel about it and we loved it. We headed straight for a vegetarian/vegan restaurant called Nourish for some breakfast/lunch and it was so good. Once ...
