Jasper to Banff
... the two parks you will only need a day, we found this out a bit late & wasted a day ticket. So back to the road trip. I'm running out of words to describe the scenery & it has to be seen to be believed but really this is the most stunning scenic drive I have ever had the pleasure of driving/cruising. I think this will have to be a case where the photos do the talking (although they don't actually talk that would just be silly!) Our first stop was Athabasca Falls. Here ...
Glaciers are cool + roughing it in Banff
... falls, which were again very pretty but not as impressive as Athabasca falls.
Lots of gorgeous mountain scenery along the Icefields Parkway. No bears.

Haben mittlerweile auch viele Dinge aussortiert, um unsere Taschen leichter zu bekommen - die beiden ...
Banff National Park -- Sulphur Mountain
... and has almost no flat areas -- just a steady climb. The trail is well maintained and offers 28 switchbacks, allowing for a manageable grade. The overall altitude gain is 700 meters (2,300 feet). It took me 1 3/4 hours to hike up this 5.5 km path.
The hike is mostly through forest and its shade is pleasant on a warm summer day although it limits the scenery. There ...
