      ... As we got up to Livermore the traffic reports were a nightmare, so we took an alternate route; a little bit out of the way, but very little traffic and quite a lovely drive. It was a long day, but considering everything we did fine, and the side issues only added about 2 hours to the trip. Arrived tired but happy.


      Today, I have totally lost my voice from coughing. Probably a blessing for Dave, but I can't work with him right ...

      ... down the road, Mike is not a huge fan of wine, so he was our chauffeur (this also allowed Patty to enjoy the entire tasting). We headed to Healdsburg for a little lunch and shopping and did some more tasting at Cellars of Sonoma on the Healdsburg Square. We ended the day with dinner at La Gare, the French restaurant in Railroad Square. It was delicious but I'm beginning to feel like a blimp!

      ... back to the park and a walk on one of the trails.  We'd been walking for about half an hour when we realised that we should probably head back as we weren't really prepared for the walk - no idea what time it was, no form of communication, no map to give us an idea of the trail length, etc, etc.  Back to the tent where we had some snacks, drank a few beers and played some cards.  Bedtime came early, as when the sun set (~9pm) we didn't have light to stay up ...
