    ... see us until tomorrow. We sat in the sun in her garden for a lovely chat and a cuppa. Later we booked into our Hotel, Kings Lodge room 10. Single beds!     Had a good flight, good landing, fast through passport control, luggage arrived quickly, met with car by Emma's parents, got down to Southampton quickly in time for 9am ferry - it's Cowes week so ferries are very busy - told to wait until 11am! No joy in persuading otherwise. Oh the joy of living on on Island - western Kenya to Southampton no delays - Southampton to Isle of Wight....... Anyway eventually they must have taken pity on us and we got on 10am - thank you Red Funnel! Happy ...

    It is ironic that I had both a major leak and no running water at the same time, but the garage fixed both problems fairly quickly and finally I was able to book a ferry crossing.

    ... north we went, the longer the days, and it felt like we were eating at 6 or 7. We adjusted quickly to a later nap, then going out for a drink, show, drink, and then dinner.
