... to let them bicker and not let it ruin our trip. We passed Mammoth National park but time would not allow us to stop. The hills were beautiful as we entered North Carolina! That would be our 6th state so far! We drove through tunnels through the mountains that had signs to take our sunglasses off, ok, we did. We stopped at the welcome center for North Carolina and saw the Hells Angel biker gang South Carolina ...

... they were trading shifts but i think they were just to lazy to come to their rescue. They were in a hot metal elevator burning up until someone came and pried them out. I would never go to this hotel again. We told them to give us more than fifty dollars but they refused.

... to take us out for an hour if we wanted. We were thrilled and quickly got ready.

We had explained Matt was reluctant because the last time we rode, he had an awful time controlling his horse. The owner assured Matt he would ensure he had a great time and gave him a small, gentle horse (Bailey) who behaved perfectly the whole ride. My horse, Dennis, was similarly well behaved. Day 3: Treasure Hunting!

... We ended up paying for Will and myself and the kids helped. So we had 4 buckets between us. Had to dig our own dirt from a little "tunnel". Apparently, this was all native dirt, meaning no gems had been planted here to allow for instant gratification.

Took us about an hour to go through a bucket each, which was plenty of time for me. Only Matt wanted to do more - the rest of us were pretty tired - ...

Another favorite is mile marker 418 graveyard fields there is a nice hike down to 2 different falls and picking berries in season is fun.

Devils courthouse is at mile marker 422 good hike to the top views are very nice, caution it is a little steep but worth the hike.
