The final descent into the valley could be tackled by two routes: the Mist Trail, which was a short but steep descent which passed two waterfalls, or the John Muir Trail, which was longer but shallower and therefore easier on the knees but didn't quite have the same views. ... with all the people in our tour. We are surprised how nice everyone is and how everyone gets along. It's very comforting, especially seeing as though Carol and I are the only 2 that know each other, everyone else is solo travellers.


Oh, and we have a thanksgiving dinner booked together for Vegas :) !

... but they must be insane to even consider it. Once we left El Capitan and drove into Yosemite Village itself, the spectacular views surrounded us in every direction. The other most recognizable image from Yosemite is Half Dome - another huge granite outcrop which looks like it was once a dome that was cut down the middle. ... we all couldn't stop laughing and smiling. Shirley had me in stitches. After finishing and walking like we had and accident for five minutes we head for the shuttle bus to the walking trek we would be doing. ... upgraded to drinks petrol very quickly but it is such a lovely car to travel in.
We made a couple of stops but tried to keep them to a minimum. Boys were carrying on as we still hadn't stopped for "lunch" and it was nearly 3pm. Mind you they had been munching on plenty of snacks and drinks along he way. We finally stopped at a McDonalds that was just off the highway, ate there then straight back on our way. ...
