The wedding went well. The ceremony was in the wine cave, which was built underground into the hill like a cellar room.
The brides maids entered the hall dancing to a Sri-Lankan Baila music and the grooms did a Latin number. The El Salvadorians (groom's family) put on a good show of their dancing skills.
... and spent about half an hour resting in the hot spring pool by the spa. Then, we had a mud bath, used the hot springs, and took a cool and refreshing nap for about 20 minutes. It was a fantastic experience, but the mud was extremely hot and we could barely sit inside it at first.
Nice and refreshed, Jonathan and I drove back home in about half the time it took to drive up there. I'm so happy we were able to have a nice weekend of relaxation and exploring. :)

In a large pen behind the shed is the sheep enclosure with 8 sheep, and a small section for a female and male turkey who insist on fluffing themselves up and advancing menacingly towards us at all opportunities. Further up near the house there are a collection of hutches with bunnies, many of which have been popping babies out all over the place in true rabbit style. One of the boys is honing his escape artist ...
... or bobbing to the beat, we seemed to be marching to a different drummer. I guess I am more the Dave Brubeck kind of girl. His sons played the day before in the Brubeck Brothers Quartet otherwise known as BBQ. After a 45 minute intermission, Diana Krall performed. Not sure this was all jazz, but it was VERY enjoyable. She sang songs from ones she heard from her parents’ 78 records. And, we knew some of the lyrics from songs ...
... winery next, a very flash old estate with lovely gardens and for some strange reason an alfresco steel band playing. Nick, Jeff & I bought a glass of wine each and sat enjoying the vibe for awhile.
Split up after this with Nick & Michelle heading back to the house for some Nanna Napa naps and the rest of us going to St Helena in search of a refreshing gelato and ...
