... It was much needed after my 36hr stint of consciousness. I met the three gentleman with whom I share a room, a group of Swedish scientists in town for some sort of science fair. I also talked to a Belgian family while eating the hostels free breakfast (cereal, milk and the best apple juice I've ever tasted). Finally, while attempting to brush my teeth after breakfast, I ended up talking to three Belgian girls. When I told them I was from Canada, one of them ran to grab her boyfriend ...
... which is shopping central and I probably could've spent our entire Europe budget there (but didn't, aww poor Steph). It is consumer heaven. We went to Hamley's which is a gigantic toy store. It's five stories of everything a kid dreams of. It was pretty cool to see all the kids (including Luke) so excited. We then went to the British museum! It was pretty boring, lots of old things in glass boxes, ...
This morning we travelled by tube to Hyde Park Corner, where we emerged from underground in front of the Wellington Arch. I had already visited the arch when I walked back from Regent Street on Sunday, but Mum and Dad hadn't yet been there.
We all went in, and the man in attendance mentioned that the Horse Guards were expected back in about 20 minutes - they would be returning from the Changing the Guard ceremony on Horse Guards Parade ...
... which I spoke of earlier. Inside the White Tower, visitors are
herded through rooms with knight’s armory, munitions, swords, and execution
apparatuses. One in particular
caught my attention on the top floor, which was the actual chopping block and
axe used for a number of the executions.

... English guys also nearly left as the cider kegs and the bottled cider were all out. I don't remember cider (other than strongbow) being something that people would have ever have run out, as most people drank beer. Times have changed. Good or bad ?
