... the slope by the road was a Grizzly! Munching away and not too interested in all the cars stopped and people taking pictures of him. Of course not smart really but yes out of our cars not 50 feet from us! Then not another 1/4 mi were 2 more playing in some shrubs. They were even closer but not in clear shot of pictures. ... jam sandwiches and the beauty of this place. BTW huckleberry everything is sold here. We especially like the milkshake! The drive to Avalanche Creek trailhead takes you past McDowell Lake. Not to be diminished in anyway cuz it is magnificent. I really need some new vocabulary words to describe the beauty here. Awesome, stunning, spectacular, breathtaking....so ordinary!
