We couldn't visit northern Italy without seeing Bellagio (we got married in the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas overlooking the fake Lake Como)
Lovely place, walked the whole village in half an hour.
Decided to splash out on a nice meal and champagne overlooking Lake Como in the evening.

... the quiet and views here till the need for food and coffee gets us going. Headed into Tremezzo, and settled into a waterfront table at The Azalea restaurant. It may sound like we're food obsessed, but surely anyone coming to Italy intends the food to feature? We start with coffee, then a basket of polenta with mushrooms and Brie and a trio of peppers stuffed vegan style, both of which have extensive Italian names too difficult to reproduce here! Today we are in Bergamo, a city that has been around since 49BC. BC stands for before christ and AD means for “anno Domini,” which is Latin for “in the year of our Lord.”
We will explore the oldest part of the city today!!!..........(Hope I don't get hit by a car!)

I had several hours free in the middle of the day. I had seen a market from the taxi on the way back from the hospital so being a real sucker for markets I went back to find it. It was mostly clothes and very extensive. I bought a shirt to wear to La Scala tomorrow. Clothes are great quality and relatively cheap here, by Aussie standards.
