    The adventure begins of Canada and America. With a nice 4 am departure from East Langdon heading to London Heathrows new terminal 2 for the 7 hour flight to Toronto.     ... The GPS seemed to struggle around this area - mine crashed and could only be recovered by popping the batteries out and Steve B's, which Clive was carrying, was also struggling. I think it must have been a mapping issue. At some point in the day I noticed a significant dog leg in the route and thought we should be able to short cut. The sign said the short cut was a dead end except for bikes so I thought it would be OK. Unfortunately ...

    ... to find most of them gone....

    Yep, they had packed and loaded up BEFORE breakfast. They left about two minutes after breakfast.

    Someone seems to have spread that I was continuing on my tour by myself, having mixed up what I had said about already having been to Italy and Paris, and "going on to Edinburgh".

    So I get to take off to Calais by myself, using the phone GPS to guide me. I'm sure I'll be fine...

    ... river and due to it being a nice day some people are having picnics. Then I spot an old man getting ready to sunbathe - you then realise that a thong is not a good look on some people!! Certainly would have put us off a picnic!! On arrival in the town we discovered that they have a market on every day until 2 p.m and that they are in the middle of a wine festival. Shame really. So we had a walk around the market, bought some cakes and sampled another Bratwurst and Currywurst. ...
