      ... water was at a warm 23 degrees which really surprised us
      and was brown and flat. Would have been excellent conditions to fish in back in
      SA.

      After booking in to the campsite, we headed back to the
      beach on our bikes and took a short ride along the top of the cliffs to admire
      the view. From here we set off to try and find a shop to buy some provisions.

      ... 24 hours. Even this morning there were stories pf long delays for lorries. As we drove to the terminal the queue of lorries stretched back to the motorway, but cars went through easily and we even went straight in to the holding area without going to the terminal first. That has never happened before. In fact, the whole crossing was about the smoothest ever, a clear achievement in a peak day with persistent rain. Coming back was even better as our shuttle left 10 minutes ...

      ... a drink, looked at the duty free (seemed expensive) but did not buy anything. By the time we went back to the cafe area we were nearly in Calais and the trip was ok (just a little rocky).
      I drove the camper of the boat remembering to drive on the right which I did ok then headed for the aires site near the docks (free) and spent a few hours getting some sleep.

      ... to the van we were met by a very tame stork who was happy to pose for photos and stood right next to the door. As we had seen them earlier being fed on dead chicks we decided that nothing in our fridge would be suitable, so after about 15 minutes he left. Some experiences are priceless. The show consisted of sketches showing a slice of Alsacian life through three periods, 1951, 2013 and amusingly 2015 - all of which involved some of the locals in traditional costume and not ...
