... out of the cliff, some have been rescued and made very chichu while others have been left to become picturesque ruins. Amongst which a tropical garden has been planted and the tiny person-wide street made up with pretty cobbles, all bleached out by the sun of hundreds of years. We took a path up and out of the top of the village, which once the road into it and is dotted with ruined houses which the forest has taken over again, a very romantic walk in dappled shade which ...

Our total mileage was 1673 and we loved every minute of it. Roll on next ...

We missed the riot. Apparently a number of Africans were injured in a riots on the night before we departed ..... attacked by the Albanians who have dominance in the lorry car park. Luckily we were up at Europe Cite .... which was unfortunately closed on that Sunday. The shopping opportunities are passing me by! Alas!

    Coming home

It was such a stormy night we could not stay at the Aire by the port in Calais so moved a kilometre inland to park by the pleasure port. All seemed well, at first we popped into a local bar for a couple of beers and returned for an early supper. Shortly afterwards the heavens opened, it had been windy all day but then came the rain and the hail, it hammered down. The motorhome rocked in the wind and the sea level rose to within a few centimetres of flooding over ...
