    ... and staying overnight in a town called Princess Anne (West of Ocean city),in Maryland and still daylight.
    A particularly green State, dotted with corn fields since leaving the ferry.

    I put only a small selection of "lovely old lady homes" in the blog - there are a few more just on the slideshow, that I could not resist leaving out.

    ... was horrific. The traffic was congested and we altered our route to get off route 30. Luckily we had our audio book and learned more about the War of 1812.

    Even after a great get-away, it always feels so good to get home again to our beloved Cape May.

    The happiest creatures here were the birds and Stephen and I spent some time watching their breakfasting antics. Seafood was definitely on the menu! The seagulls-which are twice the size of Aussie seagulls- would get a clam from the ocean, fly up with it and then drop it from a height, before descending directly down like a parachute ...

    It's been about 10 years since I last visited my aunt Heather and uncle Roger in Cape May. I arrived just before the start of the tourist season, so it was nice and quiet (but a little chillier than any of us liked!). We started out the day at George's for some amazing breakfast (french toast with lemon greek yogurt? Yes, please!) and meandered through the shops on Washington Street.

    ... returned all excited again, clothes and more shoes, came back to return a pair of converse to replace with Nike. The boys went off for a swim before dinner. Darren's choice? Jimmy Rockets! Diner with burgers and unlimited fries! I had a chocolate malt which was very nice. Darren had four leg soda's cause they were free refills as well. We are on our way to Washington DC ...
