    ... First off this week with an email from 10yr old Grandaughter Kiah, telling us of her "awesome week". She had made selection to the Interschool Cross country event for Waikato. Also won her class speech contest and now has to present it in front of her school. Similar news heard (thru' the grapevine) about 13yr old Aimee, who won the Waikato Cross country event. Well done both of you.

    The end of a busy week, taking care of the Grandies on their last week of holidays-
    the highlight of the week being Sophia's 10th b/day on Friday - family time at Applebees on the Friday night. followed by a party (adult and children) on the Saturday.

    ... but the waters can always throw you a curve ball. And it did. Suddenly the markers multiplied exponentially and it was hard to tell what was what. Adding to this situation was the fact that a shipping lane intersected our course. Shipping lanes mean BIG SHIPS. And then there were crab pots.
