... Oh yes, great way to start getting to know people, i thought. The guys said i should have dove a bit closer to the goal!! Was very funny! After that as tradition is known, we had a beer was only meant to be one beer and it turned into an all night session! Was one of the best nights i have had, we all went to a club dancing on the pool tables. Then on our journey back we were being very silly and went into a kebab van and helped with the cooking - kind of and pretending ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand suziebabe007... shocked that any of the men are able to walk off the field on their own.
Bay of Islands was calling my name for that following week. When i returned from there it was my last weekend in Auckland. I thought I should do some sight seeing actually in auckland. Turns out the only appeal there is Bex and Dan, Bex's parents and her friends. The 3 of us went to Devonport on saturday for lunch and to see the sights of the North Shore. We ate a ...
... weekend, Clarks Beach which is really nice. It's right by the beach and there's a golf course there, you can go fishing etc and a really nice community feel. It's close enough to Auckland and for Mark to see the kids. We are hoping to look at a few more properties in the next few days. Mark was back to work on Monday and is in Wellington on Tuesday/Wednesday which is a bit of a shock to the system.
I made it to the gym today, for the first time in 6 weeks ...

... may be pushing it - so I've set my mind on spending a week in French Polynesia at the end of the New Zealand trek. I'll go about booking that momentarily - after which I've spotted a Belgian Bar which serves proper beer and mussels which could rather take the edge of the bad weather. Tomorrow I start the Stray Bus trail around the country. I must say I'm less organised than I've ever been - I've no hostel booked ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand codownsean... keeping contact. Amazing how modern technology works today. We are somewhat baffled that we are here. The flight was only 3 hours and the time difference is 3 hours, so we were a little all over that place when we arrived. It is so far, yet so close to where we came from, ie. Australia, and we are still to find out where NZ really differs. We still pay with dollars, the climate is a little cooler but still lovely and sunny and the people still talk ...
Auckland, New Zealand lctd... can feel an aweful lot through their shells as it would startle them. They would rise up a little and stretch their necks to check our what was going on behind them :). After this tour, which actually took almost 2 hours as opposed to the 1 hour the website and brochure claimed (but we're not complaining!), we spent the remainder of the day exploring and enjoying the Auckland Zoo. As can be seen in the pictures there are a LOT of animals there in the zoo and many are just ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand wolftrails... t do it. Don't do it". They even radioed over saying that they did not think that it was a good idea. A spinnaker is used for sailing with the wind and if the wind changes directions it becomes useless and can get tangled and be very difficult to get down. Sure enough not five minutes after they had the spinnaker up, the wind changed directions, and their spinnaker started to twist on itself and swung back and got stuck on their mainsail. Our crew was making fun of the other boat ...
