We arrived in Florence at 3pm and decided to walk to our hotel as it was close to the train station. But of course we took a wrong turn so it took a little longer!! Not to worry we found it and it is a very nice hotel, named Hotel Laurus al Duomo. We unpacked, freshened up and headed out. What a wonderful city and yet again it is different to any other place in Italy we have seen. We went wandering the streets finding all sorts of ...

Taya went to school here for a long summer post college graduation. Since I've known her, I have heard how eye-opening this country is and how anywhere else in the world pales in comparison. If I ...

... cup of tea to keep me going at this early hour.  I called down to reception and got them to organise me a cab. By time I got my laundry paid for at reception (the guy had poor English, and my non existent French made this conversation much longer than it should have been) the cab was there.  It was a quick trip to Garde Nord and cheaper than journey from there to hotel. I get into the train terminal and look at departure board. I scan all way down to trains departing at 10am ...
