... we came into more haze, but this time it was from forest fires - not too hear us, but the smoke had spread over a large area. We encountered the smoke as we now headed east, over the coastal range, and joined the interstate 5 south. Very bad visibility for a while, but fortunately improved by the time we got near Ashland. ... We were much nicer to ourselves on the way home.

Along the way we saw family and some of the beauty the Creator has strewn around this country of ours.

The nicest thing for us both was that, after 40 years of making our own ways in our own careers we spent 6,500 miles cooped up in car, trailer dorm, and motel rooms and found that we like each other a lot. Does it get any better than that?
