        After running through the campground for exercise (it was COLD!), I got the rest of my gang to ride bikes to explore several paths near the river. We crossed the river on a pretty footbridge and then found a HUGE fallen tree that traversed the river. It was SO wide that Rees, Annie, and Wes could stand side by side on the trunk! We left the campground to ride bikes down the rode to the Rogue Gorge. Rogue ...

        ... yes !!!! The road up there was stunning and when I first looked over the rim I can honestly say it took my breath away. Not sure if the pics have done it justice but I have NEVER seen a blue like that water. Simply stunning !! I rode all around the lake and took pics from most areas.
        It was formed by a volcano long ago......before I was born and is
        6 Miles across
        4,54 miles wide
        1943 ft ...

        ... everyone-without exception, everyone we've met in Oregon to be friendly and helpful) In fact...a few minutes after they left, one of the women returned with her name (Verna) and her number written down, in case we "ran into any trouble in Oregon" and needed some help. Amazing. Verna, If you're out there...Thanks!

        We had a shower and a great sleep at the Shady Oaks Motel (love the old motels) and started out toward Florence, Oregon....on the Awesome Oregon ...

        ... It appears to be a very liberal town, at least the visitors are. We could live here, I suppose if we were able to find some folks that cherished life and liberty as much as we..... nah.

        Sunday afternoon an Alaskan cold front will reach most of the Pacific Northwest, including Northern California. The mountains can receive from 2 to 8 inches of snow. We have to traverse those mountains before the snows. We will leave tomorrow morning with Redding, California as our destination. ...
