Cheap food is a big deal on this trip. Saving money anyway you can will eventually become a very big deal, when we run out of money for example. ... the battleground then decided to go on to Virginia Beach.

The battleground was very interesting, not least of all because I hadn't realized how big a part France played in winning the American War of Independence. Maybe we shouldn't be so ******* them these days!!

Virginia Beach was a zoo. The 3-day annual Neptune Festival had just started on the boardwalk.

Williamsburg was the capitol of Virginia from 1699 to 1980.

Colonial WIlliamsburg is a private foundation that preserves the historic distict of Williamsburg.

Some of the buildings are original, some are recreations of the originals.

They also do re-enactments of certain events that occurred during the revolutionary war.
