Williamsburg was the capitol of Virginia from 1699 to 1980.
Colonial WIlliamsburg is a private foundation that preserves the historic distict of Williamsburg.
Some of the buildings are original, some are recreations of the originals.
They also do re-enactments of certain events that occurred during the revolutionary war.
