... Bishnu and Dinesh cool, calm and collected. The story at the children's hopstial was deja vu. Pay the fee. See a doc. Can't help you here. Sayonara. Back on the bike. We were sent to the Teaching Hospital, which Bishnu told me was the main public hospital.
Cue my shock. The emergency ward at TU made the others look like Club Med. The first room through the main doors was filled exclusively with cashiers. Bypassing the lines of paying customers ...
... 365 steps up to it. We got there and spent most of the time watching the monkeys!
The rest of the time we spent just walking about the shops, eating or relaxing. There isn't much to do in Thamel and its full of tourists. And you can't turn a corner without "small smoke sir, hash, cocaine.....". The place is full of drugs. Anyway enough *****ing, we still had a great time here. Heading to the airport for 24hour journey to Beijing, should be fun.
Thats all for now!

When summit, we back and the Sherpa are efficient at clearing the mountain Everest Base Camp surrounding and packing, but don't underestimate the time or effort to pack everything.

... backdrop, and the many people down below all having somewhere to go. It was dusk of course, my favourite time of day. The sky and the clouds were a magnetic pink, the temperature perfect (as it was never too terribly hot in Nepal, nighttime was always lovely), and my appreciation for life at its fullest. I am ever so grateful for my path, my journey...not just in Nepal but in its entirety. Nepal just added to it as does everything in life. Life is beautiful.
I thought about moving hotels to the Mandap Hotel where I managed to find free wireless internet whilst I was eating lunch. They showed me a room the same price as mine and also promised to put in a fan but I like the roof garden here and I sort of feel like it may be a case of "better the devil you know..." so I will keep my room here as they have been so friendly. I had problems with the water again tonight but the guy came and sorted it and I managed to get a hot shower!

... Maoists. Eight years ago, when he was running his other non-profit NGO school for poor kids, the Maoists started sending him letters telling him that he had to close down his school.
When he didn't reply or comply, they kidnapped him and held him for three days.
They told him that if he did not close it, they would burn it down and then they would kill him. He decided at that point, "Ok, I will close the school." Finally they let him ...
... worked balconies and active temples and shrines that blend into the street life alongside shops and businesses. There's pieces of antique stone work and statues lying around everywhere throughout the city with people drying laundry and in one case i saw someone using an old, engraved stone tablet as a parking measure for their scooter. There were lots of doorways and archways that lead into courtyards where there were shrines or temples and architecture that told stories of the ...

Patan (Lalitpur), Nepal travelingamandaWe ended up taking a taxi to Patan which is about 15 minutes from Kathmandu. We made a lame attempt at finding a bus that goes there, but the two buses we asked weren't going to Patan, so we just went with the taxi. When we got to Patan, the first thing we did was find food. After that, we started wandering around the city, at times going to places that we clearly did not want ...
