I couldn't believe it I had slept in! It was 8am when I awoke to the smells of warm bagels, bacon, waffles & eggs. The Kennedy's look after the "Aussies!" when it comes to hospitality. Truth is I was still full from our turkey feast but who can resist the call of toasted cinnamon and raisin bagels? Well today was going to be a sad and happy one. Four to eight inches of snow as forecast to occur at around noon. I still got up and went for my freezing cold run through Central Park and yes it did star snowing. I didn't get lost this time and also ran with my camera so I got quite a few photos. We just got back from Clifton, which is a suburb nearby, where we had a yum dinner at Applebees. A little more expensive than what we usually spend, but cheap if compared to Aussie dining prices!

Our talk was exactly what I needed -- she told me that I am capable of embarking on this journey, that I have the right (small) amount of reasonable expectations, and then shared some stories about trying to navigate in Japan, where she didn't speak the language. Basically, she reminded me that when I travel, I enjoy the challenges and misunderstandings just as much as the scenic views and novel experiences.
