A travel blog entry by tslatta on Aug 22, 2014

After our slow start, it was hard to say "good bye" to our adorable Nathan and Katelynn. 349 miles later in Spokane, we anticipate cooling winds after a mighty warm day of travel along the Columbia Gorge, "scab lands of eastern WA, rolling hills of Palouse Hills with various grain, wine and fruit orchards, and western slope of Clear Water Mountains in Spokane. Isn't that something?

Finally, after weaving our way through the forest, the conifer canyons, we got to Port Renfrew.

Now that I have eaten at all 3, my choices are, best to worse..... 1) Del Taco, good price, great taste, selection of hot sauces in packets. 3 tacos, soda and fries in meal. Tacos are kinda small but there ...

... sleeping bags and clothes in the cabin. Such a great treat after camping, hiking in the rain and sleeping on an air mattress for the last four days.

While we were making more hot dogs for dinner, we did a little research on working on a ranch in Montana and we think we've found a guy who will let us work in exchange for free horseback rides. Fingers crossed!
