Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield provides great information about this Battle and about the Civil War in Missouri through an excellent film and museum.  Then a five-mile auto loop road takes you to major points on the battlefield.  Each stop has maps, art work, and exhibits that tell the story of what happened in that place.  Walking trails provide options at four of the stops.  It was fairly easy to visualize what happened at each of ...

The Stage Stop Campground was unique -- bathrooms in a tin shed and cowboy stuff decorating the grassy areas – but it was quiet and I got a good night's sleep. Headed back the twenty miles to the George Washington Carver National Memorial to watch the DVD, finish looking at the displays, and take the nature walk though fields, woods, across streams, to the restored Carter cabin.  The DVD gave an excellent overview of his background and dedication to scientific ...

Today we drove in to the city to 18th and Vine to visit the Jazz Museum (next to it is the Nero Baseball Hall of Fame). This is the jazz district of Kansas City where a lot of jazz music was played. ... which is our minimum goal each day so we're very p,eased with our progress. Tomorrow we plan to leave VERY early so we'll be able to get out and do some site seeing.

Tomorrow we should hit Oklahoma, Texas and land in Arizona... At least that's the plan! Lol! I'll post more as we go although I don't know that I'll be able to on a daily basis but I plan to at least once or twice a week!
