... it was so peaceful just wondering through the beautifully laid out gardens. After about 11:45 it sure was packed. It was like a world apart from the world. It was created over 100 years ago by the wife of the owner of the quarry there. After the limestone had been quarried she set about creating a garden from it. The famous photo of it is the sunken garden created in the main part of the quarry. Wouldn't it be amazing if Hornsby Council did that on the old quarry site? Ha ...

Day 2 - Wednesday 13 August 2014 1st day of APT Canada / Alaska tour - Victoria, Vancouver Island Warm, RAINING and FOGGED IN!!! Awake at 5:30 am and one of the first in Vista 18 for breakfast. 360 degree Panoramic views of Victoria stunning. Matthew ordered the Mount Baker Breakfast including pancakes which set him up for the day! ... the BC version that is almost as high, but not Quite as wide as the Ontario version, as the picture will show. On the way back we drove over the Malahat for a scenic view across Findlayson Arm to Brentwood Bay... followed by my second Serious Coffee, before heading home to regroup and then dinner at Pizza Prima Strada for great Naples style pizza, with some vino rosso of course! ... there for high-tea - $70 seemed to be the price and 2 hours recommended but we did not have the time!! Yeah right.
