... pueblo was two stories high in some parts and there were 87 ground floor rooms. There were few exterior doors or windows. Most homes were entered by ladders through roof openings. Again, it is amazing that these homes were built so well that they have survived so well all these years. The views from the summit into the valleys were spectacular. ... on the internet so went there and had one of their beers, mine was apparently mixed with apple, it did kind of taste of cider - then we got talking to a young guy who was there filming a documentary about Native American biker gangs. He was from LA and they'd been travelling all across the US from New York making this film, we had a nice time (and another round) and then went to the restaurant they'd recommended. ... it. It is very pricey. It is amazing how heavy it is. My favorite area was the crystal forest where there was glassy amethyst and quartz crystals in the wood. On the Giant Logs Trail was the park's most massive log known as "Old Faithful." (Not very original with in the parks). At the end of the trail Dad was ready to go back to the hotel and go to sleep and hope he feels better ...

... but staying in the middle & continuing to walk carefully over. Eventually we made it back up to the parking lot. After a quick break, we headed back out on the road to go to the Chapel of the Holy Cross. As we neared the chapel we noticed that there quite a few cars trying to park or get in line to go up to the upper parking lot. Thankfully Jon found a spot near the bottom so we just had to carefully walk up the road to the top which was a bit interesting with cars coming ...

We pulled into our membership park in Verde Valley, where Jan and Steve Barnett were saving a spot for us! A little while later, Sherry and Jess pulled in with their "new" Trilogy 5th wheel, and surprised us!
Dinner out with Bill and Sharon, and it was a wonderful few days to catch up with old friends from far corners of my life and our travels!
