After an eleven hour drive across Ontario and New York we arrived at Chimney Point, Vermont. The drive was rainy though uneventful. The last three hours were very scenic through the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. By the time we got to the marina it was dark. The forecast was for rain Friday so we unloaded the van in the dark. We finished stowing the gear by about 1 AM. Long day!
10 August, 2001 with a return on 15 August,2001. Also hiked here 2003 and on several other ocassions. Best time to visit is summer, at least for me. ... at our site and had only a few-so clearly the candy and Halloween celebration was happening in the core of the RV area-and was it happening. There was music playing, people had decorations and costumes ready to share with the kids. Julian, Ella and I dove in-and were welcomed into this culture of campers. After eating chocolate and having dinner around a wonderful fire we were happy to retreat back to our quiet tent neighborhood.
