We decided to have a late start on Monday morning. Our original plan was to drive to Nashville late in the morning, check into a hotel to secure our luggage and then go to the music hall of fame. After some discussion, we decided that Nashville really was a several day excursion and one we would rather do by flying or driving to in a vehicle. Nashville is a big city and big cities are often not very nice to travel through on motorbikes.

... It starts out quite easy, a continuation of the forest road, but gets progressively harder. In about a half-mile, there’s another primitive camping spot and then it starts to become more like a trail. This trail was also a bit overgrown with poison ivy and stinging nettle, but we were determined to make it to the waterfall. After a while, the trail becomes very narrow and steep as it hugs the cliff ...

... While we still had some daylight left, we sat down at the creek and enjoyed the lovely view. The rosebay rhododendrons were blooming and all the flowers along the creek made for a beautiful sight. And a nice cascade added to the scene and provided tranquil white noise as we slept. After sundown, we socialized around the fire for a while and then went to bed. Sandy had to work Sunday evening, so in the morning, we broke camp and headed ...

... earlier, we decided to finish up and start heading home. Once we got to cell reception area, I checked on a picture of Waterfall on Burnthouse Branch and sure enough, we had gotten the wrong waterfall. All that effort and we didn’t even get it. Well, I guess that means we’ll just have to come back. In Morganton, we had a late lunch/early dinner at Las Salsas, my favorite Mexican restaurant, and then headed home after a great holiday ...

... everywhere. We stopped for lunch in an RV Park by a little River just outside Mountain City, TN. We literally got picked up and carried away by Mosquitoes, just like the flying monkey scene from the wizard of Oz. Had to pack up and get out of there quick. We drove through Boone, NC which is another "Mountain City" with a Gigantic College and Football stadium right in the middle. Arriving at the town of Blowing Rock in the afternoon, we went and checked out the "Crown of the Blue ...
