For people who love to see Aeroplane and Gliders Elmira Soaring Museum is a must visit. There are places where visitors can just sit and watch the gliders being towed up in the air, and there is also the possibility to purchase a Glider ride for yourself.

You can look at the pictures attached and see how the tow works and how the glide works.

Most of the people get an airtime of around 15 minutes in the glider. The day we visited, there ...

... Upper Entrance. Then we crossed the road to the start of the Bear Trail. It was an easy 15 min walk but it’s just forest. A sign near the entrance mentioned going all the way to Lake Treman but we didn’t have a map so when the Bear Trail ended at the next road we followed the nearby creek. It soon became obvious that that wasn’t a trail so we went back to the road and followed it to the right (relative to the end of Bear Trail) and down to a picnic area with ...

... and stately mansions lined the main road through this quaint little burg, and I would definitely put this on the list of "must see when I get back this way."

A hundred miles and $4.40 in tolls on the New York Thruway brought us through Buffalo and into the city of Niagara Falls. My initial impression was not favorable, as this place defines the phrase "tourist trap". T-shirt shops, hokey attractions, and ...
